Ottoman Revival Felt appliqued Panel Istanbul circa 1920.
The wear in the centre ( see pics) was probably a Sultans Tugra as are the surrounding cartouches of silk embroidered calligraphy, crescent moons and stars complete this stunning decorative panel.
There is age related wear though out this piece,(see pics) overall a handsome decorative Hanging.

During the late Ottoman period (circa 1880s–1920s), workshops in Istanbul, Cairo, and Damascus produced these striking textiles. They served a dual purpose: they were highly sought after by local elites looking to revive classical Islamic aesthetics, and they became incredibly popular souvenirs for European travellers on the Grand Tour, who used them to decorate eclectic “Orientalist” smoking rooms or salons.
